I think Spring is my favourite season. After the grey days of winter, I get excited for the crisp mornings that shimmer with sunlight & hint at the warmth of Summer fast approaching. My garden begins to explode with vibrant colours and as I watch the butterflies and bees dance among the blooms, I can't help but feel my heart stir with joy and hope. When designing Pick A Petal I knew I wanted to capture the essence of Spring by weaving together the beauty and colour that this season brings to my world.
Using a mix of hand piecing, needle-turn appliqué and a range of stitch techniques I began my journey to create Pick A Petal. I love the way combining these techniques creates layers of detail and interest to a project.
I embellished the appliqué borders with butterflies, flowers, and fruits to further evoke the spirit of Spring.
The inspiration from Spring extended beyond the quilt, sparking the creation of my new fabric ranges with Moda. I’ve recoloured these fabrics to perfectly complement the playful and whimsical feel of this design.
I’m known as a scrap quilter and so I knew I wanted my ‘Mixed Bag’ ranges to reflect this: The colour palette is bright and fun mixing a range of prints.
I hope you enjoy this journey with me as much as I enjoyed the process of creating this design.

Fabric:
We will be using Jen's fabric that she created just for this project as the basis. Two of the months she has added that we are to use fabrics from our shop to make the project our own. Months 1, 4, 5, 6 will be Jen's fabrics, and months 2 & 3 will be a mix of Jen's fabrics and lovely Liberty Tana Lawn. This is 14 yards of fabric including 2 yards of Liberty. Fabric for the top and binding are included and you will receive a coupon for 20% off yardage at the end of the program to purchase backing if you would like.

The pattern and templates will be included in each month.

Cost:
There is a one-time registration fee of $20 which will deducted from your first month payment. You will pay $49 in June '25, and then $69 per month there after. Regular monthly payments start in July '25. We are purchasing materials in advance for the block of the month so cancellations will not be permitted and your sign up fee is non-refundable.
